An authentic measure of its excellence can be discerned in the students that it attracts not only from the region but from all parts of India, the quality of its teaching and research conducted here and the mark made in the fields of sports and culture activities also. Along with other research and teaching activities, Guru Nanak Dev University is also engaged in augmenting the academic capabilities of the teachers working in Universities and Colleges at its Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (previously known as Academic Staff College) known for its rigorous and disciplinarian working. Functioning strictly in accordance with UGC guidelines and maintaining a strict regime of selection of the participants and the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (previously known as Academic Staff College) has organized not only General Orientation Courses and Refresher Courses in various disciplines but has also ventured into inter-disciplinary courses in, for example, Human Rights and Environmental Sciences and Special Programmes for administrators like Principals, Heads of the teaching departments etc.
